Creators’ Club

A resource-rich space for tinker-thinking kids to invent and test their ideas using a combination of art and engineering methods.

6-10 Years Old | 1 Hour

In this class, students will:

  • Invent through play, as we combine open-ended process art with real-world building and engineering methods—kids sketch, prototype, and refine their own creative ideas

  • Use real tools safely as they gain practical skills, self-confidence, and a sense of responsibility

  • Work independently and in groups to co-create projects that promote creative problem-solving and communication skills

  • Explore engineering concepts through art, such as:

    • Balance & stability (building bridges, towers, or sculptures)

    • Motion & mechanics (ramps, levers, wheels, gears)

    • Materials science (testing textures and strength of materials)

  • Meet and learn from real artists and engineers who share hands-on skills and inspire children to see themselves as inventors

  • Plus! All students are invited to participate in the Art Cafe Community Art Show at the end of each semester, to showcase their inventions and artwork to family, friends and the local community!
